THE SCIENCE

Want to know a little more about the science behind Well Fruited?
Well here's a few useful facts and insights that might help!

2 portions of fruit?

We've developed our products to contain 2 x 80g portions of fruit within each bottle.

Juices and smoothies are only 1 portion of fruit, no matter how much you drink. They don't contain all of the fruit and so are majority juice (which is the sugars without the fibre)

Non-extractable nutrients

The fact that Well Fruited uses all the fruit means that we capture nutrients within the fruit that are not possible to extract through juicing or cold-pressed drinks.

This includes things like Non-Extractable Polyphenols (NEPP), just in case you want to look them up!

Fibre v. sugar

Fibre helps to regulate the absorption of sugar into your bloodstream.
So even though there are natural sugars in our product, the high fibre content ensures that they are not absorbed.
This is an easy way to ensure you're not one of the 9 in 10 people not getting enough fibre. Most drinks contain little to no fibre.

Fibre that takes effect

Soluble fibre needs water to become a gel. This slows down the rate at which food leaves the stomach and helps you feel full. It's lucky that Well Fruited also contains water!

Water also neutralises some of the acidity of fruits, which prevents erosion of enamel on your teeth.

Unlocking extra nutrients

Carotenoid phytonutrients are trapped within the cell walls of fruits and vegetables. They’re released only when the cells are disrupted; that’s why we need to chew really well.

We ensure that the cell walls are suitably disrupted in the creation of a bottle of Well Fruited.

Contributing to your mental health

Eating more fruit and veg is linked to lower risk of depression, mood & mental health disorders. This is due to antioxidant properties.

Scientific studies showed that eating 8 additional portions for fruit & veg a day had the same effect on mental health as going from unemployment to employment. Try consuming 10-a-day and see how you feel after a few weeks!
